After birding in Doi Inthanon National Park , we continue d to Mae Wong National Park in Kampaengphet Province . We had to camp up on the mountain called "Chong Yen", which means "cold pass ". There was no rest au rant up here so we had to prepare supplies for cooking including some fruits, drinking water and some snacks. However, there were clean toilets. Some special bird species in the park were Crested Kingfisher (always flies along small stream near the HQ), Rufous-necked Hornbill , Burmese Yuhina, and Coral-billed Scimitar-Babbler ( always feed around Chong Yen camping area).
We were very lucky for birding here be cause there was no tourist and no rain. We could enjoy birding around our tents, where many species of birds came out to show us all day, such as very beautiful Rufous-necked Hornbills (2 males and 1 female), Coral-billed Scimitar-Babbler, White-necked Laughingthrush, Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush, Black-throated Laughingthrush, White-tailed Robin, Streaked Wren-babbler, Streaked Spiderhunter ( which came to feed on the banana's flower), White-crowned Forktail and Mountain Scops Owl.
