This trip we (Jan and Tu) went to bird-watch in the northern part of Thailand with Johan and Pairoaw Svensson. The first place we visited was Doi Inthanon National Park. Rainy season was the best time to watch resident birds since it was the breeding season and there were not many tourists. Everyday, we started bird-watching very early in the morning until it's dark. Sometimes we birded in the rain (with umbrellas) but birds were still feeding. We could see lots of juveniles of many species .
The check point number two was very popular and good for birding because lots of birds always came out to feed on moths early in the morning i.e. Rufous-backed Sibia, Yellow-cheeked Tit, Brown-cheeked Fulvetta, Spectacle Barwing, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Grey-throated Babbler, Large Niltava, Grey-chinned Minivet, Mountain Bulbul, White-browed Shike-Babbler, Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush and Brown Wood Owl (came out to in the evening). Then we continued to the summit to see Green-tailed Sunbird and Chestnut-tailed Minla.
