In the salt-pan

Thailand is a country of scenic diversity and abundant natural resources. Geographically it is divided into four natural zones: the mountains and evergreen forests of the North; the vast rice fields and salt pans of the Central Plains; the semi-arid farm lands and dry dipterocarp, savanna and some evergreen forests of the Northeast plateau; and the tropical islands and long coastline of the peninsula South is rain forest.

With over 900 species of birds, numerous mammals, butterflies, plants, insects, reptiles, and stunning landscapes, there is plenty to interest both the novice and the more experienced photographer. However, do keep in mind that you will have to know where to go; also, a fair amount of patience is obviously required.

Of course , rule number one is to try and minimize the impact on wildlife. This is particularly important during the nesting and breeding season. A second thing to remember is that suitable attire in colors that blend in will increase your chances of taking that perfect shot.
